Was it an ugly loss in San Diego? Yes.
Did the Ravens look bad on offense? Yes.
Did the Ravens look bad on defense? Yes.
Did the Ravens blow an opportunity? Yes.
Is the sky falling? Heck No!
The Ravens did clinch a playoff berth and most likely will be either #5 seed or the #2 seed. The elusive #1 seed is now a dream. This is a good team, the question is can they be a great team? Can they get on a playoff roll and get to Indianapolis? Can Flacco elevate his game for a playoff run? Was the Chargers game just a stumble?
After watching this game I’m left with many questions about this team. The thing they have to show is that they rebound from losses. If the Ravens are lucky enough to receive a holiday gift from the 49ers and move back into the #2 seed they will need to do everything they can to protect that gift! No let down against the Browns or Bengals. The Browns will want to be spoilers and the Bengals could be playing for a wild card spot. Two division games against opponents that know the Ravens very well. This Ravens team will step up. Call it a hunch or a gut feeling but at some point they will do what they need to do.
They are 10-4, healthy as you can be going into week 16 and still have a chance at the #2 seed. We will have a better idea on where the Ravens stand at about midnight on Monday night. Until then we can talk about the opportunities missed but maybe we will get an early holiday gift! I certainly would be happy trying to protect the #2 seed over the last two weeks of the regular season.
You’re never as good as you look when your winning and your never as bad as you look when you’re losing.
