OWINGS MILLS — The Baltimore Ravens have placed three players on the non-football injury list, including Pro Bowl outside linebacker Terrell Suggs.
Suggs partially tore his Achilles tendon in April and underwent surgery.
Courtney Upshaw, the Ravens’ top draft pick and a projected starter at strongside outside linebacker, was also placed on the non-football injury list along with undrafted rookie tight end Bruce Figgins.
Players placed on the non-football injury list can be activated at any time. The designation can mean a player didn’t pass his conditioning test.
Meanwhile, four players were placed on the physically unable to perform list: defensive end Pernell McPhee (knee), offensive guard Kelechi Osemele (leg), wide receiver David Reed (knee) and offensive lineman Jah Reid (calf).
McPhee underwent arthroscopic surgery in the spring.
Osemele was sidelined for organized team activities and minicamps, but the second-round draft pick has indicated he passed his conditioning test.
Reed had surgery after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in December.
And Reid was carted off the field with a strained calf during a minicamp in June.
