Torrey Smith was once described by his college coach Ralph Friedgen in glowing terms: “God created the perfect person.”
Last night God took Torrey Smith’s brother Tevin who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Northern Virginia.
According to ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio Torrey wants to play tonight against the New England Patriots. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is leaving the decision up to Torrey.
I believe Torrey will play. Not because I want him to or because it gives the Ravens a better chance to win, but because it’s part of Torrey’s massive character to put the needs of others before his own. He’ll be driven by the love of his brother.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Torrey during this difficult time. May your memories of Tevin help sustain you and keep him alive in your hearts forever.
