Jacoby Jones was practically run out of Houston after he muffed a punt that led to a Ravens touchdown during last season’s AFC Divisional playoff game. Many Texans fans blamed him for the loss, and he was subsequently released from the team. Ironically, Jones then signed with the Ravens a week after he was released.

Jones was met with many boos from the Houston crowd yesterday but was quick to silence them with his excellent play in the return game. In fact, Jones was one of the only highlights for the Ravens the entire day, averaging 32.7 yards per kickoff return.

Totaling over 200 yards on seven return attempts, Jones solidified his role as the Ravens’ primary returner, giving them great field position throughout the game that the offense was unable to take advantage of.

In addition to his large contribution in the return game, Jones also caught two passes for 17 yards.

Jacoby Jones has emerged as a huge role player for the Ravens, contributing on both special teams and offense. A case could be made for Jones being the Ravens’ most impactful offseason addition this year as he’s been a large part of several victories. His most notable contribution to date came last week against the Dallas Cowboys as his 108-yard return tied the record for longest kickoff return in NFL history.
