Baltimore Ravens defensive end Arthur Jones teamed up with the Casey Cares Foundation for an evening of trick or treating on Thursday November 8, 2012 at the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Museum in Baltimore.
Jones, who arrived shortly after the Ravens concluded practice, met with many smiling young faces as he handed out various treats to the kids of the Casey Cares Foundation.
“This is amazing what Casey has going on here tonight. What I do is just a game, the outcome really doesn’t matter compared to these kids that are just fighting for something bigger than anything we do on the field,” stated Jones when asked about his decision to get involved with the evenings events.
Seeing the way Jones interacted with the kids along his way through the museum was truly special. The Casey Cares Foundation was designed to provide uplifting and ongoing programs with a special touch to critically ill children. The laughter could be heard throughout the evening as the children dressed in various costumes enjoyed the new Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! exhibits.
“I appreciate the opportunity to hang out and have a good time with these kids who are going through a rough time. As professional athletes, a lot of kids look up to us, but these children are truly an inspiration to us. There is no better feeling than to see smiles on their faces,” said Jones.
When I asked Jones to describe himself in one word he simply stated “Hard-worker. That’s pretty much all I know and have done my entire life and that is what got me this far.”
The Baltimore defensive end truly exemplifies the definition of player positives in the community. His genuine kindness is a wonderful thing to see and the community is lucky to have him so involved.
