After an embarrassing 23-20 loss at the hands of Charlie Batch and the Pittsburgh Steelers, many fans were searching for answers.
How did the Ravens lose at home? How could they get beat by a 37-year-0ld backup quarterback? Will the the Ravens even win the division?
If you’re still in disbelief this morning, simply put, you’re not alone.
I found myself searching for answers, too. Once again, I was frustrated by the performance of the offense and couldn’t believe the guy in the headset eliminated Ray Rice from the game. The loss to the Steelers was the perfect combination of losing to the hated arch-rival and continuing the display of offensive ineptitude. The offensive coordinator, once again, proves he has no idea how to manage a game yet he will continue to be backed by an organization that will turn a blind eye to the situation.
With that said, who do Ravens fans actually dislike more, offensive coordinator Cam Cameron or the Pittsburgh Steelers? The Steelers have historically been public enemy number one, but have the frustrations caused by the hand of Cam Cameron actually elevated him to “Steeler-hate” status?
A quick, unscientific, poll of 116 Ravens fans shows that 59.5 percent dislike Cameron more than the Steelers.
After reflecting on this number, it’s easy to see why fans could actually put someone ahead of the Western Pennsylvania towel-waivers. Even though Ravens fans look out the corner of our eye to see what the Steelers do each week, we have to deal with Cameron and his mistakes right in our faces on a weekly basis. It now appears that those frustrations overshadow even the game many consider the best rivalry in football.
It appears the impossible has actually happened -people in Baltimore dislike something more than the Pittsburgh Steelers.
