The rumors that surfaced this morning turned out to be true. On his radio show this morning, Dan Patrick stated that changes would be coming to the Ravens coaching staff.
Several hours later, it was confirmed by several media outslets including Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun on twitter, that the team had indeed relieved Cam Cameron of his duties as offensive coordinator.
Jim Caldwell will take over the position. Caldwell, who is in his first year with the Ravens, served as the team’s quarterbacks coach to this point. He was the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts from 2009-11, and was their quarterbacks coach from 2002-2008. He has never been an offensive coordinator.
The move comes as a bit of a shock, as the team is sitting at 9-4 and is all but a lock to be a participant in the postseason for the fifth consecutive year. Still, many Ravens fans consider the move long overdue.
Here at Russell Street Report, we are, at the very least, losing a key inspiration for photoshops.
