The Baltimore Ravens have placed LB Jameel McClain (neck) on Injured Reserve and signed OLB Adrian Hamilton from their practice squad to the 53-man roster.
McClain sustained a spinal cord contusion on Dec. 9 at Washington. In 13 games this season, he posted 79 tackles (57 solo), which rank second on the team. McClain added three passes defensed.
A 6-3, 251-pound rookie, Hamilton was signed to the Ravens’ practice squad on Sept. 3. He was released by the Dallas Cowboys following training camp after originally signing with the team as a rookie free agent.
In two collegiate seasons at Prairie View A&M, Hamilton recorded 108 tackles, 26 sacks and 34.5 tackles for loss. As a senior in 2011, he led all Division I FCS players with 20.5 sacks, establishing a Southwestern Atlantic Conference single-season record previously held by Robert Mathis.
