The Ravens have re-signed backup safety James Ihedigbo to a one-year deal per the Baltimore Sun.
During 2012, Ihedigbo combined for 19 tackles and had a highlight reel sack of Steelers quarterback Byron Leftwich during the middle of the season. Ihedigbo primarily contributed on special teams, but the six-year undrafted veteran filled in nicely for strong safety Bernard Pollard, as he nursed multiple injuries to his chest and ribs.
Retaining the 29-year old Ihedigbo is a smart decision for the Ravens as he contributed more than originally expected after being released by the New England Patriots following their Super Bowl XLVI loss.
