Remember that Guinness St. Paddy’s Day TV ad where the Irish brothers wake up on March 17 with the wide-eyed innocence of a child on Christmas morning? They run downstairs and are greeted by a variety of Guinness packages which triggers euphoria amongst the brothers.
Today, many Ravens fans felt that exact same way as they unleashed their inner Ralphie (from Christmas Story) and attacked their mailboxes with frantic anticipation. But instead of an Orphan Annie Secret Society decoder pin, Christmas in July arrived in the form of Ravens Season Tickets.
Training camp begins in full force next Thursday July 25 and it’s then that the season as defending Super Bowl Champions begins.
It’s always interesting to see who will be featured on each of the game day tickets and this season, the surprise player was none other than Ray Lewis, featured on Game 4, the second home regular season game against the Houston Texans.
But why Ray?
He retired, right?
Did the printer mess up?
I don’t think so.
Look for that game, when Ed Reed returns to Baltimore as a Texan, to be the day that Ray Lewis is inducted into the Ravens Ring of Honor.
