Down Goes Dennis
The injury bug has bitten the Ravens early, and it hurts. Tight end Dennis Pitta has a dislocated hip and will miss the September 5th season opener versus the Denver Broncos according to head coach John Harbaugh following Saturday’s practice.

Fists Start Flying – Juan Castillo is the referee
Today was the first day of full contact at practice and tempers flared. The first scuffle of the day came between center A.Q. Shipley versus linebacker Albert McClellan. After a few extracurricular activities during 11-on-11 drills, McClellan threw a few body punches to Shipley’s ribs.
The fight was quickly broken up by run game coordinator Juan Castillo, who has been one of the most active coaches of Harbaugh’s staff.
The biggest fight(s) of the day came between center Gino Gradkowski and defensive tackle Terrence Cody. A decent scuffle occurred during 11-on-11 drills about ten minutes after the McClellan/Shipley scrum. The following play, Cody and Gradkowski got after it again when Cody didn’t let go of Gradkowski’s face mask. Gradkowski began throwing punches and threw Cody down to the ground. However, the 40 pound weight difference was too much for Gradkowski as Mount Cody rolled over on him and began pulling at his helmet.
Arthur Jones was a spectator during the fight, and was playfully slapped on the back of his helmet by Torrey Smith who ran away laughing.
Justin Tucker drills 65 yard field goal with plenty of distance to spare
There isn’t a kicking competition in camp this year, but that won’t stop Justin Tucker from turning heads. Tucker hit a 60-yard kick with about 10 additional yards to spare. Then, Tucker moved back another five yards and DRILLED a 65-yarder through the uprights with yet again, another 8-10 yards to spare.
Terrell Suggs is hilarious
A more mature Terrell Suggs has been on display thus far during training camp, but that won’t stop him from having a great time and getting a few laughs while he’s at it.
During goal line drills, Suggs blew up running back Bernard Pierce for a loss, immediately jumped up and started yelling at the offense. While skipping around, Suggs enthusiastically exclaimed, “Where the f*ck is Vonta Leach when you need him?” multiple times.
Suggs has looked nothing short of amazing during camp, and would be quite an impact on his own, even without Elvis Dumervil lining up on the opposite side.
The Ravens will be back out on the practice field tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.
