It remains uncertain if running back Ray Rice (hip flexor) will be able to play Sunday against the Texans. However, coach John Harbaugh continues to indicate the injury is not serious, and no MRI was being scheduled for Rice.
“That’s the indication, that it’s not anything that’s really serious,” Harbaugh said during his Monday press conference. “So we’ll just be day-to-day with him. I’d probably lean toward resting him this week and see how he looks this weekend. He’s not going to need the practice to play in the game. But if he feels great, we’ll put him out there. If he doesn’t, we’ll probably rest him and get him ready for this Sunday if possible.”
Rice has been extremely durable throughout his career, playing every game in each of the past four seasons. Even if Rice plays Sunday, the Ravens have confidence in running back Bernard Pierce if he needs to carry a heavier workload.
