Back during the 2007 season I hosted the Bart Scott Show at Della Rose’s Tavern in their now closed location in Canton.
Bart was always entertaining and I’ll always remember some of the stories he shared both on and off the air, some of which I can’t repeat.
During one show we discussed what goes on in a scrum. What happens down there in that pile as players wrestle for the football? Why is it that a player who seemingly has possession before the scrum comes out of it with nothing?
Bart explained that a lot goes on in the pile. Anything is fair game in an attempt to get the football except one thing – messing with a man’s junk. THAT Bart would explain, is off limits – it’s an unwritten Man Law.
Unfortunately someone never explained that to Pittsburgh Steelers backup center Cody Wallace.
