Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker is like no other on the football field or off.
Less than 24 hours after kicking his game winning 61-yard field goal against the Lions, the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed Tucker greeted football fans on Tuesday afternoon.
More than 300 people gathered outside the AT&T Store inside White Marsh Mall for a chance to meet the second-year Raven. Tucker smiled and thanked each and every person who congratulated him on his performance and signed autographs for the ecstatic fans in attendance.
“Him kicking six field goals yesterday,” said Aaron Lewis when asked why he came to meet Justin. “He’s been a dominating force this season and winning games for the Ravens. He’s our diamond in the rough.”
Baltimore loves Tucker it’s safe to say. Including his six field goals propelling the Ravens to victory on Monday Night, Tucker has connected on 33-consecutive field goals, ranking as the NFL’s longest current streak and fourth-longest in league history.
If that wasn’t enough, Tucker became the first NFL kicker ever to connect from the 20-, 30-, 40-, 50- and 60-yard range in a game.
“He made a 61-yard field goal which is amazing and it gives me real pride to come and actually see him in real life and get his signature,” stated a young fan named Cody.
“Six field goals and not one missed in a game and he could eventually make a record for most kicks made in row in the NFL is amazing.”
With two more games ahead for the Ravens it is clear that fans feel secure with Tucker lining up with the game on the line.
“He is the best kicker the team has had since Matt Stover,” one fan bellowed.
And you would be hard pressed to find anyone who would disagree.
