As the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens prepare to meet in Week 17 for the fourth consecutive season, both squads are a bit banged up. The Ravens list five starters as questionable, while the Bengals will be without CB Terence Newman and DT Devon Still, while also listing LB Vontaze Burfict and TE Jermaine Gresham as questionable, and rookie TE Tyler Eifert as doubtful.
For Ravens running back Ray Rice, it only seems fitting that he would be dealing with injuries up to the very end (should this indeed prove to be the end for Baltimore, which is far from a foregone conclusion) of his disappointing 2013 campaign. Known as one of the most dynamic players in the NFL, rice suffered a hip injury in Week 2 against Cleveland that greatly hampered him. Though he only missed one game, he was never the player Ravens fans come to know from 2008-12 this season. Throw in the Ravens’ offensive line woes and you get a Ravens running attack that needs 308 yards in their final game to avoid being the worst in franchise history.
Teammate Torrey Smith has never missed a game in his three year career, so expect him to be on the field Sunday along with the other “questionable” Ravens including Rice, Elvis Dumervil, Arthur Jones, and Gino Gradkowski.
