The Baltimore Ravens signed three veteran players Monday — offensive guard Will Rackley, fullback Shaun Chapas and tight end Phillip Supernaw.
Rackley is probably the most interesting of the three.
The Ravens have left open the possibility of moving left guard Kelechi Osemele back to right tackle depending on what they add at left guard and right tackle. Rackley was a third-round pick in 2011 and started 24 of the 25 games he played in the last three years.
He missed 2012 due to injury, but he started 11 games last season.
At worst, he adds competition for the backup jobs behind Osemele and right guard Marshal Yanda.
Chapas will look to make the team as a blocking back and special teams contributor.
He was a seventh-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2011 and has since played for the Cowboys, Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars.
He was on the Jaguars’ practice squad the latter part of last season.
Meanwhile, Supernaw spent time the last two years under new Baltimore offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak in Houston.
He signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2012 and spent part of the year on Houston’s practice squad. He played in one game for the Texans last season.
His father is country music artist Doug Supernaw.
