The Baltimore Ravens have signed first-round draft choice LB C.J. Mosley, general manager and executive vice president Ozzie Newsome announced Tuesday afternoon.
The 6-2, 235-pound Mosley was tabbed 17th overall out of the University of Alabama following a standout collegiate career. A two-time (2012-13) first-team All-American and 2013 Butkus Award winner (nation’s top linebacker), Mosley was a part of two National Championship squads with the Crimson Tide (2011-12).
He totaled 320 tackles (174 solo), 6.5 sacks (-52 yards), 19 passes defensed, five interceptions (three returned for scores), two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in 51 career games (29 starts). Finishing third on the school’s all-time tackles list, Mosley is one of just seven players in Alabama history with 300-plus tackles, while his three INT-TDs tied (Antonio Langham) a school record.
