Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Michael Campanaro has only been a member of the organization for a few short months. While he prepares to try to make his first impacts on an NFL field, he continues to make an impact off the field for his Alma mater Wake Forest University.

Campanaro, the Clarksville, Maryland native, who played for the Demon Deacons prior to being selected by the Ravens in the 2014 NFL draft recently became a member of the Wake Forest University Deacon Club.

The mission of the Deacon club is “to help provide scholarships to deserving student-athletes and equip them with first-class facilities,” per their official website.

Made up of school alumni, past student athletes and members of the community, the organization is composed of more than 5000 donors in order to raise funds for their mission for the past 60 years.

“After everything Wake [Forest] has done for me these past five years I can’t wait to give back and support!” Campanaro stated when asked about joining the club.

During his tenure at Wake Forest University, Campanaro amassed 2,506 receiving yards (third in school history) and finished with a school-record 229 career receptions.

While Michael is just beginning his football career here in Baltimore, it’s a refreshing sight to see him giving back to the University that helped him get here.
