After a strong practice Friday, Asa Jackson is making a case to win the job as the Ravens nickel cornerback. It is much too early to say the job belongs to Jackson, with Chykie Brown, Tramain Jacobs, Dominique Franks, and others still in the mix.
However, Lardarius Webb (back spasms) missed practice again Friday, and Jackson receiver regular reps with the starters and took full advantage. His signature play came late in practice, when Jackson stepped in front of the intended receiver and intercepted a pass from Joe Flacco. Jackson’s interception drew plenty of hollering from the Ravens’ defensive sideline.
“Asa had a heck of a day today,” said defensive coordinator Dean Pees. “Asa is really competing. He’s having a real, real good camp, and then he had a big play right there in the two-minute situation.
