Pierce Guides Browns’ West Off The Field

While the Ravens and Browns may be bitter rivals in the AFC North on the football field, it appears as if that rivalry ends when the final whistle blows.

In an article written by Tom Reed of the Northeast Ohio Media Group about former Towson and current Cleveland Browns running back Terrance West, Reed learned that West is being mentored by Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce.

Reed’s article goes on to say that West apparently became involved in some sort of “Social Media Misadventure” where according to Deadspin, the Browns running back sent a married woman his information on Instagram.

Apparently the woman’s husband wasn’t too fond of West reaching out to his wife and passed along that contact info to his friends resulting in some not so pleasant pictures being sent to the running back.

Pierce, after reading about the mishap involving West reached out to his friend to offer his advice and it appears as if this wasn’t the first time.

“If I see him veering left I shoot him a text or give him a call,” Pierce said of the Browns rookie halfback in Reed’s article. “He’s not a stubborn kid at all. When I talk, he listens.”

Pierce’s helping hand even drew praise from rookie Browns head coach Mike Pettine.

“He’s been through it,” Pettine said in the post. “Having gone through two NFL seasons and all the knowledge he has that can help Terrance. I think it can be beneficial.”

So while Pierce and West will be trying to lead their respective teams to victory when they square off in 2014, their friendship and Pierce’s mentorship will carry on long after the lights go out.

“You want to keep guys like that around because he’s a positive all the way around,” West said in the article about his relationship with Bernard. “He’s like my big brother.”
