We’ve been at this thing we do here on RSR for 11 years. We’ve seen a lot of players come and go and we’ve seen many in mainstream media do the same.
Since Ravens24x7.com was launched on July 3, 2003 when we enthusiastically welcomed Kyle Boller (ugh!), we’ve always maintained our fan-centricity.
As we’ve grown and evolved (at least I think we have on the later) we’ve added features that almost always have two things in mind:
1. How does it benefit those who visit our site?
2. What value does it bring to our valued customers who make this all possible?
With those things in the forefront of our collective mind, we continually explore new ways to improve our visitor/fan experience while creating new assets upon which we can deliver our customers’ messages.
Oh and one more thing, we harbor no ambition to be part of mainstream media.
There are plenty of folks who do that very well, with infinitely deeper pockets and far more experience. We want to deliver content for fans by fans and along the way do it well enough to earn access to the teams that we cover that your typical Joe Fan doesn’t have.
Recently we’ve toyed with the idea of providing our own podcasts in the spirit of our defunct albeit successful Ravens radio program GAMETIME. And then along came Section 336.
Talk about a match made in the Field of Dreams!
They share a common vision with us, provide thoughtful insight and they make me laugh.
“When we started Section 336 we called ourselves Baltimore’s Best Sports Talk, because it was time for a change in the way sports talk was working in Baltimore”, explained one of 336’s founding members Josh Sroka.
“Our goal was to be the true voice of the Baltimore sports fan, the black and orange, purple camo wearing fans, that are filling the stadiums and yelling at their TVs.”
You feeling the connection here?
Sroka does.
“Partnering with 24×7 is a perfect fit because Russell Street Report and Eutaw Street Report have the same vision and a proven track record. They are the home of the Baltimore sports fan. We are excited to join forces with the very talented people at these sites and to continue to be that voice of the fan.”
Credit for making this marriage happen (not in a Ricky Williams/Mike Ditka kind of way) goes to 24×7 Networks (owner of RSR and ESR) Senior Editor Derek Arnold.
“As a long-time fan of Section 336, I couldn’t be more excited to have them come aboard”, said Arnold.
“I’ve gotten to know Matt, Josh, and Bert as not only great Baltimore fans and providers of smart, insightful, passionate sports talk for Orioles & Ravens fans, but also as great guys.”
You will soon see the thoughtful, insightful and zany offerings of Section 336 on both Eutaw Street Report and Russell Street Report.
