Needless to say, this is a devastating injury for any aspirations the team had moving forward. Smith was one of the two or three most irreplaceable pieces on the Ravens, as we’ve seen over the last two weeks without him.
Smith was injured on a goalline play in Cincinnati, on the Bengals’ first offensive possession of the day. Even worse, the play right before he got hurt was a 3rd-and-15 that Cincy converted. If the Ravens get off the field there, Jimmy is probably fine.
But, that’s football. We wish Jimmy a full and speedy recovery. As for the state of the Ravens’ secondary for the rest of the season?
