Ravens 28 Dolphins 13

Share
Reading Time: 4 minutes

Great game on both sides of the ball. The Ravens started out pathetically in the 1st quarter but really stepped up in the second half. After a terrible interception by Joe Flacco, the team really started to move the ball, and the decision to go for it on a 4th and 1 in their own territory was ultimately a good one (and a decision that teams should make more often). After a lackluster defensive performance last week, the pass rush took over the game, taking down Tannehill repeatedly in key situations. ~Tyler Lombardi

The day and the season could have gone sideways; instead the Ravens gutted things out and found a way to win. The game was a microcosm of the Ravens overall. They deal with adversity, and they collectively move forward. The goal going into today was winning out. This brings Baltimore one step closer.~Chris Stoner

After getting down 10-0 and not having a first down in the 1st quarter, the Ravens bandwagon was very small. The Dolphins did nothing to help themselves as they never really went after the Ravens secondary. The Ravens found a way to turn things around and outscore the Dolphins 28-3 in the final 3 quarters. With the Steelers and Brown winning, and Bengals losing, the entire AFC North is 8-5 (or should be, but Bengals are 8-4-1). The Ravens now have the easiest remaining schedule and set themselves up for potentially winning the division. Didnt think I would day that a few hours ago.~Joe Polek

In a game during which the Ravens played with very little heart during the 1st quarter, they dug down deep and played an outstanding three quarters of team football. After a boneheaded interception in the red zone, Joe Flacco played brilliantly, spreading the football amongst many receivers. They needed Joe to be great today because a running game wasn’t there early. However, the Ravens persevered and were able to run the football down the Dolphins’ throats when it counted late in the game. Outstanding win in a must-win situation! ~Tony Lombardi

After a lackluster first quarter, the Ravens played with the urgency this game deserved. After what could have been a backbreaking (2nd such of the day) turnover came back on some very good fortune with Flacco’s arm juuuuuust moving forward when the ball came loose, the Ravens took advantage from that point on to revive their playoff hopes. ~Derek Arnold

The Ravens overcame an early deficit in a hostile environment to come up with a huge win. Thank god for the fax snafu by Denver, Elvis Dumervil is the Ravens defensive MVP in 2014. ~Ryan Jones

The Ravens rebounded well after a sluggish start to defeat the Dolphins in a must win situation in South Florida. The defense stood strong in the absence of Haloti Ngata, while the offense stayed balanced to keep the Dolphins defense on their toes to win their fourth straight win against Miami. Next up a must win home game for the Ravens against Jacksonville.~Brian Bower

At some point, when you have as much talent as the Ravens have on their defensive front, that front needs to take over. And that’s exactly what happened in Miami today. The Baltimore rush imposed their will and protected a decimated secondary. One of the more underrated performances came from Chris Canty. He was disruptive and pushed the pocket on early downs. But the sub-package quartet of Jerningan, McPhee, Suggs, and Dumervil owned this day. On offense, quarterback Joe Flacco put the team on his back with Justin Forsett not at 100%. Give another game ball to right tackle Rick Wagner for holding Cameron Wake in check, often without help. This was the first playoff game for the Ravens, but clearly the most important given tie-breaker factors. The Ravens looked like the Ravens today notching a tough, rugged road victory in a pressure-packed situation.~Dev Panchwagh

With almost no room for error heading into a tough AFC matchup against Miami, the Ravens responded in impressive fashion to keep their playoff hopes alive. Not having Torrey Smith forced the Ravens to work more underneath in the pass attack, which was probably a good thing as Joe Flacco had one of his best performances of the season. An Elivs Dumervil-led pass rush fueled a dominant second half performance by the defense.~Kyle Casey

From the start of the game until the last drive of the second half, the Ravens looked slow and disinterested. But, they rallied and pounded the Dolphins on the ground en route to a crucial win. Joe Flacco’s interception was flat-out inexcusable. He gave Steve Smith, Sr. no chance to make a play and literally gave the ball away.

All in all, the Ravens handily won a game they needed to win. You can’t ask for much more than that.~Mike Fast

I guess the old saying it’s bot how you start it’s how you finish is true. Sleeping through the 1st quarter Ravens wake up and dominate.~Ken Zalis

After another slow start, the Ravens turn it on and coast to win in South FLA.  My prediction on 27-13 was pretty close, but who would have never expected 4 75+ yard TD drives (would have been 5 if SSSr had held onto the easy 2nd Q TD pass).

Great pressure by the D and great game called by the beleaguered Dean Pees (w/ an assist from the Dolphins OC for not even try to test the Ravens deep!)

Much needed win and a keeps the Ravens very much on the playoff (and division) hunt. ~ Brian McFarland

Live from Miami- Ravens got off to a slow start and then played well at the end of the first half with a critical score. In the second half, unlike than in the first they started getting to the QB. That made the difference as did the 1/3 stadium full of Ravens fans. While the Ravens are still an outside shot to get in the playoffs after last week’s critical home loss to SD, they took a one game step ahead of both the Dolphins and Browns. Still alive. ~ Tom Moore
