Merry Christmas Everyone!
I hope that today brings you peace, love and happiness and that you take time to remember the reason for The Season.
For me the best part of Christmas isn’t rooted in materialism and clearly not the hustle and bustle that takes place to secure “things”. Instead it’s about sharing time, sharing a meal, an embellished trip down memory lane and of course the genuine joy of a child on Christmas morn.
It’s easy to allow all of the distractions to shroud what is most important. May the simpler things of the day remind you what is.
Confession – I’m a bit of a mushball and if you were here in my home right now you’d know it and you would strip me of my man card. You see my wife has the Lifetime channel on and I’m not objecting – quite the contrary. I’m getting a little misty from the selflessness of A Christmas Angel.
Some of you are probably thinking, “Where was your inner mushball when you trucked Joe Flacco this week?”
Truth be told, Joe is my favorite quarterback. I just expect better.
Speaking of better, you are probably well aware of the movie Scrooged. It’s about a TV executive who predictably gets caught up in “things” until one day he has an epiphany (with a little help from 3 “friends”) and realizes what is most important about the Christmas Season.
Here’s the uplifting ending from the movie.

It’s been said often, and it’s true, giving is a gift in and of itself. The intrinsic value fuels the soul and uplifts the spirit. So with that in mind I have a bit of gifting to do for a few Ravens plus one.
For…
- Joe Flacco: The next Calvin Johnson
- Torrey Smith: Brand new cleats
- John Harbaugh: A challenge flag that works
- Arthur Brown: A chance
- Rashaan Melvin: A great Jimmy Smith impersonation
- Terrell Suggs: Dancing lessons
- Haloti Ngata ~ A fair contract extension
- Ray Rice ~ A second chance
- Sr. ~ A fat couch potato
- Dennis Pitta ~ A new hip-hip
- Dick Cass ~ A better group health plan (18 IR’s!)
- Roger Goodell ~ A sales job at Crazy Ray’s
What gifts would you give out if you could?
