The news of the Ravens trading five-time Pro Bowler defensive tackle Haloti Ngata to the Detroit Lions spread like wildfire at the commencement of the NFL’s new league year.
The writing was already on the wall for Ngata this offseason as there was truly no way the Ravens were going to keep the nine-year veteran with a $16 million cap figure in 2015.
The business side of the NFL is something every player understands all too well. Former and current teammates know they may have to say goodbye to a teammate at any time.
Here are a few responses from some players that played alongside Ngata in Baltimore:
Wishing the Big Guy @Haloti_Ngata92 the very best. Will miss you bro! A great player and a better person … “06 Class”

Here a a few reactions from some former players:
Marques Ogden: “HALOTI NGATA has been a great Raven, for his whole career. I wish we could have gotten more than a 4th and 5th round pick forHis stellar play!”
“I wish him nothing but great success in Detroit. Except if they play the Ravens LOL!”

Qadry Ismail: “It is always tough seeing a guy the star power of Haloti Ngata go; we have seen it in the past as well with
guys like Reed and Boldin. Ozzie though is no amateur and there is a reason and formula he sticks to… So, I simply say-
pass me some Royal Farms chicken what a crazy start to free agency!”
