Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith is known for his strong attitude on the field. The soon-to-be 36-year-old wideout is often described as one of the angriest receivers in the league. He plays with an edge unmatched by any other receiver in the league, which has helped him throughout his career.
Now, Steve Smith is set to host a morning show on SiriusXM Channel 88 called “The Opening Drive.” The show will air every other Wednesday from 7:00-11:00 AM starting on April 1. Steve Smith will host the show alongside co-host Bob Papa.
“I’m extremely happy to join the SiriusXM NFL Radio team and to learn from my talented co-host, Bob Papa,” said Smith. “Radio truly is one of the most unique ways to interact with fans. Maybe one day I can make a full-time career out of it…if I’m lucky enough!”
Steve Smith is a very fiery guy. As a guest on radio shows and in press conferences, Steve Smith has shown that he is an articulate speaker. He often delivers great commentary in both of those places, and his fire and passion for the game is extremely clear.
Some of his best soundbites include his interview with Dan Le Batard back when he was in Carolina where he was pulled over during the interview and his interview after his revenge game against the Panthers where he said that he made the Panthers’ defense look like a bunch of “schoolyard kids.”
My personal favorite, however, is this one.

It will be interesting to see how he uses his intensity on the air with Bob Papa. One thing is for sure: listeners of SiriusXM Channel 88 will be entertained every other Wednesday morning.
