The Baltimore Ravens will hold a free coaching summit for area youth football coaches at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday, May 9 from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. The event features longtime Baltimore Colt Joe Ehrmann and former Ravens Brad Jackson, Michael McCrary and Matt Stover.
Highlighted by a coaching seminar led by Ehrmann and a Ravens alumni panel discussion on youth football, the event will also include breakfast and a stadium tour for coaches in attendance.
Through the Ravens RISE program, which was created last year in an effort to cultivate youth football, coaches from Maryland and its surrounding area are invited to attend at no cost.
A resident of Baltimore, Ehrmann regularly travels around the country to speak with NFL, college and high school coaches and teams about his “InSideOut Coaching” methods. He has been recognized by Parade Magazine as “The Most Important Coach in America” and was also named one of the “100 Most Influential Sports Educators in America” by the Institute for International Sport. Additionally, Ehrmann was selected by the Baltimore Business Journal as the “Renaissance Person of the Decade” for his dedication and commitment to Baltimore City’s betterment.
“Children can be diminished and discouraged by their sports experiences, or they can be strengthened and uplifted,” Ehrmann explained. “Sports can be a life-changing experience if coaches understand why they are coaching and redefine their measurement of success.”
“Youth coaches have a unique opportunity to educate and inspire young athletes, helping provide a foundation to be successful in every area of life,” Ravens president Dick Cass stated. “The Ravens are committed to developing football coaches who embody these ideals, and we salute Mr. Ehrmann for the impact he continues to make.”
