Surprisingly, we have good news for the Ravens on the offseason power rankings front. Peter King, in today’s Monday Morning Quarterback blog, puts together power rankings of all 32 NFL teams. He ranks the Ravens at number 1. Peter King has a history of favoring the Steelers and Patriots, but he has shown a lot of respect toward Harbaugh’s Ravens in recent months. Back in January, he compared Harbaugh to Chuck Noll and now, he thinks that they are the best team in the league. LINK
Steve Smith: DeAndre Carter ‘a young Randall Cobb’
Steve Smith says that undrafted rookie DeAndre Carter reminds him of Randall Cobb. Cobb was the prize wide receiver of the offseason this year in free agency, but he ended up returning to Green Bay. Marc Sessler has more on the similarities and he also gives one NFC Scout’s analysis of him. If Carter wants to make the team, he will have to excel in kick and punt return duties. LINK

In the past, the Ravens have picked standouts from small schools in the middle rounds, most notably Brandon Williams and Lardarius Webb. If Will Hill isn’t the starter in the Ravens’ opener, it will be his own doing. Right now, he is competing for the starting spot, but it would be a big surprise if Matt Elam surpassed him.
