The Baltimore Ravens today launched their official Snapchat account, adding to a growing stable of social media channels designed to connect fans wherever they are with the team.
“We’ve long operated on the belief that we need to be where our fans are,” stated Ravens senior vice president of digital media & broadcasting Michelle Andres. “With a massive audience, including a concentration on 13- to 34-year-olds, Snapchat was a logical next step.”
To access the account, fans can simply open the Snapchat app and search for “bltravens” or search using the Snapcode associated with the team’s profile (pictured left).
In addition, to celebrate the launch, the Ravens have issued a weeklong “Snap-to-It Challenge,” giving fans the opportunity to win a WR Steve Smith Sr.autographed jersey. Each day a new challenge will be issued; fans can complete the challenges by sending their best snaps.
The Ravens also have a presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, YouTube, Google+ and Pinterest.

Last week, the team launched an emoji keyboard, and the Ravens are also one of the first NFL clubs to partner with Twitter to utilize the Twitter Mirror, which provides fans an enhanced Twitter experience. The Mirror gives fans a fun, behind-the-scenes look at player, coach and fan “selfies” that can be visually modified and Ravens-themed.
Snapchat is an impermanent photo and video messaging application. Using the application, users can take photos, record videos, add text and drawings, and send them to a controlled list of recipients. These sent photographs and videos are known as “snaps.”
