The Orioles and the Ravens have had a great relationship the past couple of years. Big name Ravens like Anquan Boldin, Torrey Smith, Ed Reed, Justin Tucker, and Joe Flacco have shown their support for the Birds of Summer by attending games, and even wearing Orioles gear during press conferences.
Before the Atlanta Falcons game last season, Buck Showalter and the Orioles were honored on the Ravens’ big screen after they had been eliminated from playoff contention by the Kansas City Royals. The video operators for the Ravens often show the Orioles on the screen when they attend games, and they are usually greeted with loud applause. Adam Jones was even with the Ravens as they were making their 2012 Super Bowl run.
Apparently, that camaraderie hasn’t extended itself to Kevin Gausman to a point where he will root for the Ravens ahead of the team that he rooted for when he was in college at LSU. Gausman tweeted this photo last night of himself wearing Saints gear.
Pumped to see my Saints take on the Ravens tonight with @tnorth2!! #DontHateMeBirdland #Preseason pic.twitter.com/nQ2etmwOQb

Now, I’d be fine with it if he was from Louisiana. But the man is from Colorado! Come on, Kevin, if you’re going to swap teams when you go to college, you’ve got to swap teams when you’re the most promising pitcher on the staff of a major league team. Some fans shared the same sentiment as me.
@KevinGausman @tnorth2 you’re from Colorado! Three years at LSU flipped you?? — Chris London (@zip1515) August 13, 2015
While others were more forgiving.
@KevinGausman we love New Orleans for welcoming us during the Super Bowl. #WeGood

I can respect this. At least he didn’t go to college in New England. However you feel, there may be a way to rectify the situation.
I will wear a Ravens jersey when the Ravens give me a signed Flacco jersey haha #FootballSeason

Let’s make it happen, Ravens! But can I have one of those signed jerseys, too?
