What if Rob Gronkowski had lasted one more spot and the Ravens had taken him? Rayshad Lewis commits to a college football program. Mike Carey apparently isn’t that bad at predicting the outcome of replay reviews, but that doesn’t mean he’s good at his job. Elvis Dumervil had quite a trip to the Pro Bowl. Making the case for Steve Smith Sr. in the Hall of Fame. How will the latest Manziel incident affect his relationship with the Browns? Calvin Johnson might be retiring.

What If…Rob Gronkowski Was a Baltimore Raven?

With the 43rd pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Ravens selected Sergio Kindle. With the 42nd pick, the Patriots selected Rob Gronkowski. I bet the Ravens wish that Gronkowski had dropped just one more spot so that they could have taken the tight end who has become the undisputed best at his position, but as Ashley Anderson of Purple Reign says, his numbers probably wouldn’t be as good in Baltimore.

Rayshad Lewis, son of ex-NFL star Ray Lewis, commits to Utah State

Ray Lewis‘ son decided to play his college football at Utah State over other options like Coastal Carolina, Fresno State, North Dakota State, and Toledo, according to Jason Fraychineaud of Fox Sports. If he is even half the leader that his father was, then Utah State is lucky to have him.

Mike Carey is not as bad at his job as you think he is

That’s what Steven Ruiz of For The Win says, at least. According to him, Mike Carey was asked about a replay review 44 times this season. On four, he didn’t give an opinion. Of the other 40, he was correct on 36 of them and wrong on 4 of them, which means he was right 90% of the time. That isn’t bad, but he lacks any charisma while articulating his point, and his opinions rarely make for entertaining television.

Elvis Dumervil Had Hellish Pro Bowl Trip

Elvis Dumervil didn’t exactly have a relaxing trip to Hawaii. According to Ryan Mink of Ravens media, Dumervil was in the middle of planning his move back to Florida for his offseason training. He didn’t mind, but he needed to come down to Baltimore from New York, which had been hit by winter storm Jonas. When he finally got to Hawaii, he found out that his bags were in Japan.

Has Ravens WR Smith Sr. already secured his spot in the Hall of Fame?

Clifton Brown of CSN Mid-Atlantic thinks so. With the current logjam of worthy wide receivers entering the Hall of Fame, Steve Smith might have a hard time, but Cliff thinks that he is absolutely worthy. This week, Terrell Owens and Marvin Harrison are facing the prospect of entering the Hall of Fame, while players like Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce are on the outside looking in. But Cliff thinks that Smith Sr. will still make it because he’s unique.

Latest Manziel incident might help Browns say goodbye

Cliff Brown discusses the Johnny Manziel situation and how it affects the relationship between the Browns and the polarizing quarterback. Over the weekend, Manziel had an altercation with his girlfriend, but very few details have been released about the incident. Still, Manziel has a history of causing headaches for Cleveland, and they should be willing to cut ties with one of their biggest problems.

Sources: Calvin Johnson told Lions he plans to retire

The day after the regular season ended, Calvin Johnson told his head coach, Jim Caldwell that he will be retiring, according to ESPN’s sources. With Johnson’s style of play, it’s not surprising that he has dealt with lingering injuries and soreness as he has aged. If he does end up retiring, he will go down as one of the best ever, and this will be his last touchdown.
