Jalen Ramsey is a great fit for the Ravens, but will he be around at the sixth pick? DeForest Buckner goes to the Ravens in Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock draft. A preview of the Ravens’ defensive line shows the Ravens may have some turnover there. We get an insider’s look at the Ravens’ media and broadcasting team. NFL teams will do a lot to find out everything they can about a potential draftee.
Jeremiah: Jalen Ramsey a strong fit for Baltimore Ravens
Daniel Jeremiah of NFL media thinks Jalen Ramsey could drop to the Ravens, and he had the Ravens nabbing him in his first mock draft. If that happens, fans would be ecstatic. He fills an immediate need in the secondary, and is one of the most dynamic players in the draft. He creates turnovers, which the Ravens desperately need after recording just 6 interceptions this past season.
Jeremiah Mock Draft 2.0
That first mock draft that had the Ravens nabbing Ramsey? Yeah, Jeremiah changed his mind. DJÂ has the Ravens taking DeForest Buckner after Jalen Ramsey comes off the board with the 3rd pick and Joey Bosa flies off the board at the 5th pick.
Is Jalen Ramsey The Ideal Choice At 6th Overall?
Phil Gentile of Purple Reign gives a summary of the scouting reports than we did. Phil’s conclusion is similar to ours: the Ravens seriously lack playmakers, and the best playmaking defensive back in the draft would be a welcome addition to this roster and a great fit.
Ravens roster preview: Defensive line
Bo Smolka of CSN Mid-Atlantic previews the defensive line, a unit which has no free agents of any kind but could still have some turnover. Seven d-linemen are currently under contract. He expects Chris Canty to become a Cap casualty. The other player whose status is up in the air is Kapron Lewis-Moore who, after a couple years with injuries, didn’t do much in his five active game to meet the high expectations for him from the team.
The Team Behind The Team: Digital Media/Broadcasting
This week in The Team Behind The Team, Shawn Hubbard (photographer) and Garrett Downing give us a behind the scenes look at the Ravens broadcasting and digital media team. These are the people responsible for all of the content on their various digital platforms – including their social media accounts – and those responsible for the broadcast of preseason games.
Former Bucs GM had Justin Blackmon shadowed
If you think there is a limit to what NFL teams will do to learn more about their potential draft packs, you would be wrong. Last year around this time when George Whitfield Jr. said NFL teams had been shadowing Jameis Winston, people were skeptical. But Mark Dominik, a former Bucs GM, said that he had a scout sit in a bar and wait for Justin Blackmon to arrive. Blackmon was there too often, and they took him off their board. Mike DiRocco has the full story.
