From 20 to 25
Sometimes the NFL needs to leave well-enough alone. But it’s doubtful that they ever will, continuing to tinker with the game, even contradicting past rule changes. There’s really no other way to say it — the new NFL touchback rule is a joke!

I don’t get the proposal to reward the receiving team the 25-yard line after a touchback. The league moved the kickoff line of scrimmage to the 35 to encourage touchbacks and eliminate at least in part the kick return game as part of an effort to prevent injuries.
If the result of a touchback is a start from the 25-yard line, expect more special teams coaches who have talented kickers like the Ravens Justin Tucker, start hitting unusually high kicks in order to pin teams deeper in their own territory. And with such kicks there will be more contact hence undermining the purpose of the move to the 35 for kickoffs.
Whose knucklehead idea was that anyway?
