The Baltimore Ravens announced their preseason schedule Thursday afternoon, with the slate featuring home games against the defending NFC Champion Carolina Panthers and the Detroit Lions. Baltimore will also play the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints on the road.
The Ravens open the 2016 campaign at M&T Bank Stadium when they host Carolina on Thursday, Aug. 11. This marks the Ravens’ seventh preseason game against the Panthers in a series Baltimore leads, 4-2.
Baltimore then travels to Indianapolis in Week 2 of preseason play (Aug. 18-22), with the game’s exact date still to be determined. The Ravens and Colts have never faced each other in the preseason.
The Ravens return home to host Detroit for a game tentatively scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 27. This contest marks the fourth preseason meeting between the teams in a series that the Ravens hold a 2-1 edge.
Baltimore closes out its preseason schedule on Thursday, Sept. 1 at New Orleans. The Ravens have battled the Saints three times in preseason play, with Baltimore winning each contest, including last year’s 30-27 victory at M&T Bank Stadium.
The Ravens are 47-32 all time in preseason play. Under head coach John Harbaugh (2008-15), Baltimore has compiled a 20-12 record during the preseason.
