A Chance to Cheer Tyrod Taylor

Share
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Ravens fans will get a chance to cheer Tyrod. We check in on his contract situation. A couple of draftniks have contrarian opinions on Treadwell and Bosa. The O’s find success in their trip to Camden North.

Tyrod returns

Bills Media Insider Chris Brown takes a look at Buffalo’s schedule. One of the main points he addresses is Tyrod Taylor’s return to Baltimore. I, for one, am excited. He was a fan favorite during his time in Baltimore, particularly for 105.7 Caller. This will give Ravens fans a rare chance to cheer Tyrod.

I know I’ll be on my feet the first time I hear his name. For one, the fan obsession with the backup quarterback has always been funny to me. But mainly, I’ll cheer because we desperately missed him last year in Baltimore. The team wasn’t very good either way, but watching Tyrod under center would have been much more enjoyable than watching Matt Schaub, Jimmy Clausen, and Ryan Mallett.

Obviously, the cheering will stop once the game starts, but he put in enough time here to deserve a positive reaction from the crowd…at least initially.

Is Tyrod Taylor Worth a Long-Term Commitment for the Buffalo Bills?

Speaking of Tyrod, let’s check in on our friend and his contract situation. Ol’ Tyrod performed admirably last season with the Bills. Dan Pizzuta of numberFire calls him the anti-Alex Smith. He was an efficient passer for the Bills’ run-heavy offense, but he was efficient in the intermediate and deep areas of the field. In a market in constant search of even a mid-level quarterback, Tyrod should command high value on the open market. The Bills would be wise to lock him up. He’ll certainly get an opportunity elsewhere if they don’t.

Joey Bosa might not be the top-10 NFL Draft pick he’s made out to be

If you’ve read him in Ravens Links before, you’d know that former Bucs defensive end Stephen White isn’t afraid to have a contrarian opinion. This one is of Joey Bosa. When this piece was written, Bosa was more highly-touted than he is right now. People were calling Bosa a “can’t-miss” prospect (as if that exists). White was skeptical. He says that Bosa could become a serviceable player, but, like our own Ryan Jones, he thinks he may have reached his ceiling already. He calls Bosa “a machine”…but that has its drawbacks. Robots are pretty stiff in the hips.

Laquon Treadwell and the Chipotle paradox

I feel blasphemous for even posting this on here. Jeff Risdon of Draft Breakdown compares Laquon Treadwell to Chipotle…and he means it *gulp* NEGATIVELY. He doesn’t think Treadwell (or Chipotle) sucks. He just sees better options out there. He likes Corey Coleman’s upside and Ohio St. Michael Thomas’ contested catch ability more than anything Treadwell offers. Simply put, he just doesn’t get Treadwell…or Chipotle.

Baseball Topics

I know many of you don’t like baseball at all, so you can feel free to ignore everything past this point. I’ll be sure to clearly mark it. Both Derek – who puts together the O’s links over at Eutaw Street Report – and I thought that hey, if Peter King can have eighteen paragraphs where he talks about beer, coffee, and basketball every week, we can put a link or two about our other favorite sport.

O’s Continue to Dominate “Camden North”

Logan Quick gives his series wrap-up of the Orioles’ trip up to Fenway Park, or Camden North as it should be called. The Orioles have had plenty of success up there recently. This series was no exception. Even though it ended an undefeated season (and they extended their losing streak to 2 last night), the series was a success. The success of the bullpen should make O’s fans happy. The pitching of the three starters, however, should not.
