Is Super Bowl 51 a Possibility?
The Ravens beat the Bengals 19-14 on Sunday and have won three of their last four games to top the AFC North at 6-5, but the odds on them winning the Super Bowl are looking slim.
The New England Patriots have started the season in sensational form and are as low as 3.25 with many sportsbooks to win the title they claimed in 2015 once more. The bookmakers expect the Cowboys (5.50), the Seahawks (7.50), the Steelers (15.00), the Raiders (17.00) and the Falcons (19.00) to be New England’s greatest threats to winning the Super Bowl. The odds are constantly shifting, a flurry of action is taking place and many sportsbooks are offering free bets in a bid to tempt new customers.
But they are not giving the Ravens much of a chance of reclaiming the Super Bowl they won in such stunning fashion in 2013. Betting odds on the Ravens winning it are all the way out at 46.00, leaving them as the 11th-ranked favorite. The books are not actually expecting the Baltimore Ravens will win their division, let alone the AFC Conference or the Super Bowl. The Steelers, who are neck and neck with the Ravens are 6-5, are 1.50 favorites, having gone in from 2.10 in the past week, and Baltimore are out at 2.88.
So if you disagree and think the Ravens can do it now might be a good time to take advantage of free bets offers.
It might be a tall order as the Steelers are on a two game winning streak, are the second-ranked favorite to win the AFC and fourth-ranked favorite to be the Super Bowl Champion. But the Ravens have already beaten the Steelers this season and are in similar form, so there’s hope for Baltimore.
Right now it is hard to see the Patriots failing to win the AFC though. They have put last season’s disappointment behind them in style and have raced to a commanding lead in their division. Only the Cowboys have a better record than them this season, but the Cowboys are a young team and the experience of the likes of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski means they shade it and are heavy favorites.
Brady shows no signs of aging and simply seems to get better every year. He has even just been made 101.00 to become the President of the United States of America in 2020, level with Kanye West and The Rock. After Donald Trump winning the election this year, nothing is beyond the realms of possibility now.
The Cowboys however look primed on to win the NFC East given their 10-game winning streak and the 1.25 available on looks like money in the bank, particularly if you’re ahead after taking advantage of free bets.
It looks like it could be a straight fight between them and the Seahawks for the NFC, with the winner facing the Patriots – or perhaps the Chiefs, who are also in excellent form – in the final. The momentum is with the Cowboys and Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott are playing out of their minds, so the 3.00 available on them winning the NFC looks a great bet right now.
