Steve Smith Sr. has already started to wade into his post-NFL career as a commentator, this week joining Jason Whitlock, Cris Carter, and Colin Cowherd on FOX Sports’ Speak For Yourself.

Smith defended Joe against allegations that he doesn’t play with urgency, that he doesn’t have passion for the game, and other criticisms that the panel was lobbing toward number 5.
Steve also reminded them all that Joe has had a long lineup of offensive coordinators since Cam Cameron left near the end of the 2012 season.
Whitlock then told Smith that Steve Bisciotti, today at the Ravens’ end-of-season press conference, wondered if Agent 89 might walk through the locker room door again next season.
Smitty had a typical 89 response.
We think that Steve Smith Sr. has a nice long career as a commentator ahead of him, should he decide to go that route in earnest, based on early returns.
