The Baltimore Ravens drafted Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley in Round 6 of the 2019 NFL Draft. RSR staff react to the pick here:

Ravens close out the draft with an interesting pick. McSorley fits as a mobile QB who could thrive in a system similar to the one they ran last yr with Lamar. He also offers some interesting sub package options and his DB background could allow him to contribute on special teams. I don’t know if he makes the team outright as the 3rd QB, odds are against that. At the same time if he shows well enough on special teams he may be able to pull it off.

I don’t think I can get much simpler then this: Baltimore is in better hands for today’s NFL with Eric Decosta running the team.
He has a better eye for value, fit, and talent than Ozzie did his last few drafts.
It’s too early to tell the impact of these guys yet, but on paper this is a class to get excited about.
Ken McKusick
To make the roster, McSorley will have to be cast in a slash role, because I don’t think the Ravens will get to the point where they will trust him as the only backup. During the season, McSorley could be a “finish the game” QB with RGIII inactive some/all weeks. Ultimately, McSorley provides misdirection for the run game and has the potential to be a slot receiver (a very full stable for the Ravens right now). I don’t give a lot of credence to the notion he might move to the defensive side, but it will be something fun to observe in camp.
