It could be argued that the engine that drives any NFL team is the offensive line. Think about it! An offensive line that protects the quarterback gives him time to go through his progressions. It allows receivers additional time to create separation. And it gives an offensive coordinator the luxury of attacking defenses with more pass catchers – tight ends and running backs that don’t have to sit back in pass pro.
And then of course a strong offensive front can be road graders and take an opponent’s will to win away with a steady diet of smash mouth football. Possessing the football by ground can also act as a team’s defensive weapon as well.
Over the years, the Ravens offensive line has featured some very good players, a few of which were taken on Day 3 of the NFL Draft while a couple others went undrafted. But who were the best?
