Let The Games Begin…AGAIN!

The trade deadline has come and gone, and the Baltimore Ravens decided to stand pat. The roster is solid, just depleted with injuries. Nonetheless, this is a good Ravens football team that is going places in 2021.

Why did I bring this up right out of the gate? Because it has deprived me of good reaction tweets to any trades that might have happened. Thanks for nothing, EDC!

JK, it’s all good, because there’s still plenty of fun to talk about for today’s Out to Lunch! Let’s not waste anymore time and get right to it…

The Baltimore Ravens are squaring off with the Minnesota Vikings this week so it’s only right that we go back to one of the most stressful games the Ravens have ever played it:

This game against the Vikings took insanity to an entirely new level. I mean, five touchdowns within the final few minutes of the game in the snow?! It doesn’t get any more insane than that. The game was truly was a spectacle that had to be experienced to put into words.

Thanks to Kevin Oestreicher for throwing this clip up for us to relish and relive some past trauma. I’m just glad the Ravens ended up winning, because that would’ve been gut-wrenching otherwise.

Fun fact for you…

That’s right, Mark Andrews is playing like the best tight end in football right now, not Travis Kelce. It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise considering Lamar Jackson is having his finest season as a passer yet and Andrews has been one of the biggest reasons why. Andrews is on pace for over 1,000-yards for the first time in his young career. In fact, Andrews is currently on pace for 90 receptions for 1,253-yards and seven touchdowns. That would be one of the finest seasons a tight end has ever had.

An All-Pro nod is certainly within his grasps, and he may even edge out Kelce for First-Team if he keeps doing what he’s doing.

Yeah, I’d say Andrews was worth every penny of that extension and then some. Thank goodness EDC signed him to that extension before the season, as it likely saved the team a few million dollars…

Just a little bit of news sprinkled in for you:

Chris Westry is back after missing time with a knee injury. The 6’4” corner is a towering presence on the outside and definitely a much-needed addition to a lackluster pass defense. Hopefully, Westry picks up where he left off in the preseason and gives Baltimore a serious boost to improve its coverage.

Speaking of guys returning from injury…

The calvary is on the way! Nick Boyle and Derek Wolfe will make their long-awaited 2021 debuts within the next couple weeks, if not this upcoming Sunday against the Vikings. Other key cogs like Latavius Murray, Sammy Watkins, and Ben Cleveland will also rejoin the fray.

Getting these guys back could prove to be a huge momentum swing for Baltimore, as all six of these players can easily make big splashes that helps to swing things back in favor of the Ravens.

Can we take a moment to appreciate that these three played on the same defense together at the same time?

Ray Lewis. Ed Reed. Terrell Suggs. Three Hall of Fame defenders. And they played together at the Exact. Same. Time. We don’t talk about this enough.

Thanks, Brian for the serotonin here. What an awesome clip of some Baltimore Ravens legends.

Let’s close out this OTL with something fun!

Watch your back, @NFL! The Baltimore Ravens are coming back this week and they have a lot of doubters to prove wrong. What’s this? IT’S LAMAR JACKSON WITH A STEEL CHAIR!

Bring it on, Vikings!

Let the games begin…AGAIN!
