Take a Deep Breath Flockers!

Reading Time: 3 minutes

A tough loss on Sunday for the Baltimore Ravens won’t dampen the spirts of Flockers as we arrive at the middle of the week and begin preparing for the Green Bay Packers.

Baltimore dropped a close game to the Cleveland Browns by a score of 24-22 after the team failed a two-point conversion towards the end of the game. For some reason, everyone is divided on the decision and believes it to be controversial. As for me? It was (obviously) a must-do eventually considering the Ravens lost by two points… but that’s neither here nor there, I suppose.

Instead of arguing, lets go to the Twitter-verse to see what’s poppin’ with Ravens Flock, shall we?

I have a saying in life that goes something like this – If you don’t laugh, it’s just cruel.

By that I simply mean that you have to be able to laugh about the good and the bad things that happen in your life or else this world could eat you alive. Why is that relevant to this article? Because of this meme:

It’s so true that it’s funny and hurts at the same time. Trust me, just laugh this one off…

Didn’t find that meme funny? How about this one!

Once again, it’s so true that it’s funny and really hurts our souls… sigh…

Is Tyler Huntley the best backup quarterback in the league? He certainly could make a compelling argument. Plays like this definitely back up this claim:

On short notice because of a Lamar Jackson injury (prayers up for a speedy recovery), Huntley came off the bench and nearly led the Ravens to another win with him under center. Huntley completed 71% of his passes while tossing a career-best 270-yards and a touchdown pass to Mark Andrews. Huntley managed 45-yards as a runner with some incredible highlight reel runs, as well.

This was the run that Ravens fans should remember for a while:

All things considered, Huntley was stellar in this game and there should be very little criticism about him. No, the Ravens didn’t get the win with Huntley under center, but they were this close.

Speaking of Lamar Jackson, Baltimore lucked out with the young quarterback avoiding a high-ankle sprain or anything else more serious. With that being said, are we sure we want him to play this Sunday against the Green Bay Packers?

The Ravens are hoping to put together a late-season run to make a strong push for the division, but rushing Jackson back from an injury that he may not be 100% recovered from may not be the smartest move for either party. Jackson should be taking his health seriously considering the rest of the team’s luck with injuries this year, and the Ravens shouldn’t be rushing its best player back onto the field if it means risking further injury and missing more of the season.

The good news if Lamar doesn’t play, is Huntley proved he is good enough to win games. Baltimore shouldn’t feel a need to force Jackson out there, even if he does give you a better chance to win. Instead, play it day-to-day and be smart. Don’t rush Jackson back.

It’s Packers week, so let’s take a look at a fun highlight from the last time these teams faced off:

Ah yes, Mike Wallace – a Baltimore Ravens legend. In all seriousness, Wallace was rock solid that season as the make-shift number one receiver for a pretty dull offense. Wallace had a very solid stint with Baltimore in his two seasons with the team and this highlight was one of his finest of his entire career.

Two things can’t go right at the same time for the Ravens in 2021. Exhibit A:

The defense has been pretty dang solid in their best “bend but don’t break” efforts of late. Unfortunately, the offense hasn’t held up its end of the bargain. In that same five game stretch, the Ravens have eclipsed 20 points just once, that game being this past Sunday with 22. That’s not exactly a winning formula.

Baltimore really needs to get both sides of the football figured out if they plan to make a run for the playoffs. Injuries can only be an excuse for so long; right now, it’s about execution and the offense isn’t doing that.

In case you missed it: Tony Jefferson is back in Charm City! Here is a fun play to commemorate his return to the Ravens:

Once a Raven, always a Raven. Welcome back, Tony!

Before we close, I’ll end with this:

Two 1,000-yard receiving yard seasons? For the Baltimore Ravens? In 2021? I never would’ve seen that coming, but I’m certainly not complaining.

MAndrews and Hollywood have both been beyond awesome this year and approaching their first 1k seasons in their young careers. To do it in the same season would be totally unreal. Here’s hoping these two can get those needed yards in the final four games of the season.

Have a good hump day, Ravens Flock! And make sure you keep that head up and have high energy for the game this week at The Bank. We’re going to need your best 12th-Man efforts!
