The Ravens traded Marquise Brown and the 100th pick to the Arizona Cardinals for the 23rd overall pick.

RSR staff react to the move here…

As for Hollywood, I have been asking for a trade.  I didn’t want to pay him his 5th year option. He may be worth it but the bottom line is that WR are becoming very plentiful and easy to find and no reason to pay a middling guy that much money. Love the move.  I’m going to guess a guy like Ebikite is the potential pick at 23.

Something has just felt “off” this off-season with the team’s relationship with Brown, and the Ravens pick up a second first-round pick for the second straight season. Obviously, what that turns into will go a long way to grading this, but with receiver costs soaring throughout the league, and a decision looming on Brown’s fifth-year option, there is a logic to this move.

I like Hollywood, a lot, but I can’t complain about the value here. 23 for Hollywood and 100 is solid value, especially with a number of excellent players still on the board. I wouldn’t even be disappointed with Trevor Penning or Tyler Linderbaum here, though a wide receiver has to be in play as well.

Trading Hollywood resets the rookie contract for pick 23. I like Hollywood but I love the move more. Now let’s see who the pick is at 23. Hopefully McDuffie.

As for the Hollywood trade, I can say for SURE I didn’t see that coming. Coming off of his best season and with no other proven receivers on the roster, I can’t say I’m jazzed. This definitely isn’t doing Lamar any favors so far, either.
