Good Morning Ravens Flock, and happy Wednesday. Tuesday was a day that was defined by a lot of frustration with a little bit of positive sprinkled in.
But let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way. On Monday, Adam Schefter reported the following:
Veteran free-agent WR DeSean Jackson is scheduled to visit the Ravens on Tuesday, his agent @DrewJRosenhaus confirmed. At 35, Jackson wants to continue playing.

At this point, my heart dropped. I thought he would come in and hopefully leave Baltimore without a contract. Unfortunately, the Ravens had other plans.
Ravens are signing veteran WR DeSean Jackson, his agent @DrewJRosenhaus confirmed. At 35, Jackson is back for his 15th NFL season.

Look, he isn’t the worst option in the world, and with the status of Rashod Bateman still up in the air going forward, the Ravens needed more depth. But I’d like to see them least try a little harder than a 35 year-old wide receiver who never stays healthy. I understand Robbie Anderson has character issues that the Ravens don’t like, but he just went for a couple late-round picks, and you are signing DeSean Jackson? Can we be serious with wide receivers, please? No, we are going to suffer through another year of this Ravens? Ok, I guess. I pray that Bateman can practice this week.
Speaking of Bateman, Harbaugh gave an update:

Whether or not you believe what he says about injuries, it sounds like he might be close? Although, if the Jackson signing is anything to go by, I don’t know. We will just have to wait until the report comes out of practice.
Some other smaller moves on the Edge were also made.
Ravens have signed veteran OLB Devon Kennard to the practice squad and released Brandon Copeland.
Rookie 4th-round TE Charlie Kolar has been cleared to return to practice after he had abdominal surgery in July. So his 21-day practice window is starting.

Devon Kennard seems like insurance at this point, but he did play a decent amount of snaps with the Cardinals, so maybe he has something left.
Charlie Kolar is practicing again. He was a 4th round pick that got hurt in Camp. He makes his journey back to the field in a crowded room. I loved Kolar at Iowa State, and he offers more good size at Tight End to the Ravens. Either way, the Ravens are getting healthier, and I couldn’t be more pumped.
Ravens now have four players who are in different stages of the 21-day practice window. RB Gus Edwards is in his third week. OLBs Tyus Bowser and David Ojabo are in their second week. TE Charlie Kolar is now in his first.

To end things for today, I want to give a shout out to one person who hasn’t been getting the love he deserves: Ronnie Stanley. He looks great, and he has registered some high PFF grades since he came back.

Ronnie will be important this week against the browns since he has owned Myles Garrett.
Stanley vs Garrett?

Just to clarify… Kolar had a sports hernia that dated back to his Sr. college year. The Ravens knew about it when they drafted him. Was not a training camp issue. Not sure if there is room for him, unless they drop Boyle. Hopefully, Charlie is good at Special Teams.
