Howdy everyone! Happy Wednesday “Hump Day” to everyone and how about them Ravens?! Now 6-3 on the year and headed into the bye week, it feels as good as it ever has to be a fan of the Baltimore Ravens.
We have quite a bit of time between now and the next game the Ravens play against the Carolina Panthers, but this gives the team a lot of down time to get 100% healthy and ready to go for the final half of the 2022 season. While we wait, let’s check out what’s happening with the Ravens Flock in the Twitter-verse for this edition of Out to Lunch.
Watch out, NFL, Kyle Hamilton is heating up for the Baltimore Ravens.

• 70 yards allowed

The 14th overall pick from this year’s draft took some lumps in his first few games of the season, but he’s coming on strong as the weeks progress. Hamilton has been playing some great football as of late, and it couldn’t come at a more opportune time with Marcus Williams on injured reserve. This version of Kyle Hamilton is playing like a Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate.
How good is this Baltimore Ravens roster?
According to the folks over at Football Outsiders, the Ravens have the NFL’s deepest roster:

Aside from the wide receiver position, the Ravens have serious depth at nearly every other position and some top-level talent starting, as well. The is no doubt one of the league’s deepest rosters, but Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders says they are the deepest. Much appreciated, Aaron!
How special is Lamar Jackson?
I’m unsure how many ways we can say it, but we get more with every game he plays. Look what he did this week for the history books:

Every time it feels like we’re about to run out of ways to describe how special Lamar Jackson is, he suits up for a game and does more historic things like this. We have seen some good passing quarterbacks play in the NFL and we’ve seen some good running quarterbacks in the NFL, but we haven’t seen many that are as good at both at the same time as Lamar Jackson is. He’s truly a unicorn at the position.
Team Superlatives
It feels like the majority of the time a player plays for the Baltimore Ravens organization that they have more positive things to say about their experience than anything else. It appears we can put Kenyan Drake into that category now, as well:

It truly is the coolest “humble brag” to be able to say that the Baltimore Ravens are so highly regarded amongst NFL players.
A Difference in the Life of a Child
Lamar Jackson is one of the greatest players to ever come through the Baltimore Ravens organization both as on the field and especially off of it. This past week before Monday Night Football, Jackson stopped by to say hey to a young fan in Mississippi with a heart condition. Safe to say, it melted our hearts:

Lamar Jackson has shown time and time again that he isn’t just a great quarterback, but that he is simply a great person. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Jackson go out of his way to interact with his fans and you can rest assured that it won’t be his last. It doesn’t make this moment any sweeter or more genuine though, and I am glad to call him my quarterback.
Are you in need of a good hype man?
Go get you Justin Houston.
This pregame message from @JHouston50 to @Lj_era8 is what it's all about.

Houston is having an All-Pro caliber season in 2022. His 8.5 sacks are tied for the second-most in the league, but he’s averaging almost ~1.5 sacks per game right now and is on pace for 20 in 14 games. While we plan to talk more about how good he’s been this year, having a player of Houston’s caliber hyping you up is about as good as it gets. For the Ravens, Houston might be taking over as the 2022 season’s version of Mark Ingram from 2019.

Love this little pic of the former Raven and his former teammates. It’s as we say, “Once a Raven, always a Raven.”
Who’s got it better than us, Ravens Flock?!
