Happy Thanksgiving Monday, Flock! I hope you enjoyed your stress-free football Sunday. Let’s see what went on as our Ravens sat back, relaxed, and watched a couple of their AFC North co-contenders battle it out.

In Cleveland, the Steelers yet again looked poised to steal victory from the jaws of a much-deserved defeat, but in the end, Dorian Thompson-Robinson engineered a final-minute field goal drive to give the Browns the win.

So, after 11 weeks, the AFC North standings look like this:

A bit tighter than any of us would like, but at least the correct team remains atop.

Speaking of things that not many of us like that could affect the division…

That’s right, the rumors are true. One Joseph Vincent Flacco is set to become a member of the Cleveland Browns. He is expected to be elevated to the active roster to back up DTR. I gotta think it’s DTR’s job to lose, and as long as he can protect the ball and let that vicious defense do their thing, Joey Eyebrows will remain watching from the bench. But if DTR starts slipping – as he did yesterday for a bit – Flacco with that OL, running game and defense could pose a problem. Could you imagine…

Wild stuff.

In other happenings, the AFC’s current top seed, the Chiefs, take on the Eagles tonight in a Super Bowl rematch. Ravens fans will be watching that one with interest as well.

It’s anybody’s guess how this all shakes out.

Gordon mentioned Baltimore’s upcoming game against the Los Angeles Chargers. That’s a team that is in quite a bit of turmoil. My preseason Super Bowl pick (oops), they just lost again, this time in Green Bay to the lowly Packers. LA is now just 4-6 as they prepare to host #RavensFlock, and head coach Brandon Staley has entered the “get snippy with reporters” phase of his career.

This could go either way. Sometimes teams will rally behind their coach as the man’s seat gets noticeably hotter. Or sometimes they’ll fold like a wet noodle. If the Chargers are going to rally though, they’re gonna have to do it without one of their best defenders, at least for a bit.

It would be nice if the Ravens could dodge Joey Bosa in Week 12, that’s for sure.

  1. In Flacco’s first 6 seasons, he was 10-5 in the postseason ! He played for a league championship 3 times! In his 5th season, he won 4 postseason games all on the road culminating in his winning the SB as MVP! In Lamar’s first 6 seasons, he’s 1-3 in the postseason, has not played for the league championship or played in the SB! In his prime, Flacco was the best QB the Ravens have ever had! At 38, Flacco’s best years are behind him, but in a mediocre league, I wouldn’t count him out, particularly in crunch time……..

  2. It was eleven weeks that Joe Flacco got hot and poised back in 2012 for the Ravens. He collected on the backs of the other deserving players on that squad….BIG BUCKS.He hasn’t been worth what they paid him.As many compare what Lamar has done so far to earn his big bucks,we’ll have to wait and see. Flacco might have a chance to up right his legacy if he faces the Ravens in this year playoff run. I have to admit,I have been pretty downright hard on Flacco….fair or unfair.IT IS WHAT IT IS.

    1. Flacco had his most productive season in 2014 under OC Gary Kubiak and would have gone to another championship game if it hadn’t been for Harbaugh’s crony, DC Dean “Swiss” Pees squandering Flacco’s 4 TD passes and two 14 pt. leads in each half against Brady and the Patriots! You’re entitled to your own opinions, but not your own…..FACTS!

  3. Flacco’s best years are definitely behind him. He hasn’t been the same QB since his knee injury in 2015. I don’t fear seeing him go against us if we meet in the playoffs.

  4. The Chiefs lost last night. We’re now in first place. The Chiefs have a stellar D but still have question marks about their offense and passing game.

The Chargers? Wow total disarray and down trending several years with one of the better QBs in the league. Staley continues to show why he’s not the guy. Just hope the Charger org. waits to get rid of him. We could use another win.

Flacco. Congrats to Flacco. The Browns jump the gun and got to Joe before the Bengals had a chance. With all the parts the Browns have he could carry them for a short period of time. I see him starting soon but will he good enough for a sustained period of time? We’ll see. Good luck Joe, just not against us.
