OTL: Feeling Disrespected, Ravens Punch 49ers in Mouth

Good Morning Flock! We thought the gifts had all been unwrapped earlier in the day, but our Baltimore Ravens had one more surprise for us hiding under the Festivus Tree. They took the field in San Francisco, against the NFC’s top seed, a team many expected to dominate them, and turned the tables in a convincing 33-19 victory.

Let’s bask in the afterglow of a Festivus miracle, shall we?

One fool in particular is dining on his words this morning: Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio. Earlier in the week, he declared that the 49ers would “kick the sh!t out of the Ravens.” The team, especially Lamar Jackson, took note.

Jackson called out “Mike Flores,” on the team’s “Dub Cam,” but we all knew who he meant.

A great message from the team leader, who clearly isn’t impressed with talking heads running their mouths. Jackson expressed his displeasure, but never stooped to Florio’s level with insults, instead reiterating that as players they respect their opponents every time they take the field. (Well…maybe a tiny little insult about his “little channel,” but that’s OK.)

Jackson wasn’t the only quote-worthy Raven last night. Patrick Queen had this gem:

Something else we heard last week was that the Niners, not the Ravens, were the most physical team in football. The Ravens were on a mission to prove that wrong, and Queen’s words gave some insight into their mentality headed into Monday night.

“Everybody wanna be out here cute, playing basketball on grass and stuff, and we ain’t with all that. You do all that stuff, you’re gonna get hit in the mouth every play, honestly.”

You know a team that’s cute and likes to play basketball on grass? The Miami Dolphins. Just saying.

"The 49ers are the only team that can beat the 49ers, and I think we saw that happen tonight."
