Happy summer, Flock! We’re post Memorial Day now, which means it’s the unofficial start of beaches, barbecues, and…counting down the days until training camp.
In the past, this weekend has been the annual Ravens Beach Bash. I learned this morning, however, that 2023 was the final year of the event?
LAAAAAME.
I don’t know what went into that decision, but it’s s a huge whiff from the organization. Fortunately, the annual Ravens Roost Convention (which the Beach Bash tried to overshadow anyway) lives on.
For more on that, check out this piece I wrote a few years ago:
As the title of that article tells us, the Roost Convention was the party that wouldn’t die – not when the Colts left town and they didn’t have a team at all, so certainly not when the Ravens decide to pull the plug on their end of the deal. Prior to the Beach Bash, the team at least sent a bus of players down to the convention to mingle with the fans. Something tells me that, if the Bash is over, so is that. Hopefully I’m wrong about that, so I’ll be monitoring for updates.
Regardless, if you’re downy o’shun right now, enjoy, hun!
Update: Thanks to X user @redward0569, who pointed us here:

The good news is that it looks like the cheerleaders, Poe, and the Ravens Marching Band will still attend the convention. But, no players. Womp womp.
Voluntary OTAs continued this week (and conclude today), and Lamar Jackson hasn’t been there since the first day.
Asked about Lamar Jackson missing all but one OTA so far, Harbaugh said: “it’s this time of year.” He said the workouts are voluntary and he’s not allowed to comment on guys not here.

Make of that what you will. Personally, I am unbothered.
Harbs also provided an update on David Ojabo, which will also elicit eyerolls from large portions of the Flock.
Harbaugh said that David Ojabo will likely graduate to team work during training camp. He’s been participating in individual work after having knee surgery

Just like Odafe Oweh, Ojabo is firmly in the “show me” category at this point. He has all the potential and athleticism in the world, but the best ability is availability. We’ve gotta see this dude on the field.
As the Ravens continue their work on offseason renovations to M&T Bank Stadium, they provided us an update with a look inside at the construction.

Looks great! I am particularly interested to see what the finished product looks like from the upper level social areas that will provide views of the downtown skyline (see image at the top of the article).
Whether you’re in Ocean City, Baltimore, or anywhere else in the Flock diaspora, have a great weekend!
