With Thanksgiving behind us now and while we recover from overeating on Thursday, the Ravens continue preparing for a Sunday Night football tilt with the Los Angeles chargers.

While we were scared a bit by the Rashod Bateman injury, we did get some good news.

It looks like Bateman will avoid missing time, which is huge. With Mark Andrews being gone for the season (unless the team makes a deep playoff run), we will need all hands on deck, and getting Bateman more involved is a way to help the offense. OBJ has been on fire these last two weeks, and Bateman might be poised to be a large contributor.

However, if the Ravens are going to move to a more spread-out production along the offense, getting back Ronnie Stanley will certainly help.

With Joey Bosa being out on Sunday, if Stanley plays, it would be nice if he could lock down his side without much help. His injuries are unfortunate, but the team needs this guy to play up to his contract.

While some players are taking steps forward, others are moving in the other direction.

This is the most frustrating thing about the Ravens seemingly every year. Every time the team finally gets healthy, something keeps a particular player or player off the field. This does not mean that Zay is out on Sunday, but if he is out, it will be infuriating because every week, we feel like we are so close to seeing this team at full potential, only for something to get in the way. A Zay Flowers injury that would make him miss Sunday with Bateman, OBJ, and Stanley all coming back would fit into this team’s trajectory this year with injuries: two steps forward, one step back.

On the other side, there is not much to report:

The Chargers are mostly healthy for this matchup, so reiterate: the Ravens need the veterans on the offense to be healthy and step up. We are too late in the season to make any more excuses about the injuries of this team. The team is what it is, and players will either answer the bell or not.

Enough of the negativity; it is the season of being thankful for what you have, especially regarding the Ravens. There is no one I am more grateful for than Todd Monken:

No matter what happens this season, the drought of bad OCs is finally over. So Thank you, Todd Monken. Thank you for allowing our generational QB to work in a system that enables him to play to his ability. Thank you for attracting OBJ to this team and using guys like Flowers and Bateman. Most importantly, thank you for being able to adjust game plans and use weapons properly, like Keaton Mitchell. Now, replacing Mark Andrews is no easy task, but with Monken, we can be optimistic.

This Thanksgiving Weekend, I am thankful for the man who made me love Ravens Football again after two bleak years, Todd Monken.
